My Press Release
Young Visionary Designer from Paris, brings the Original Haute Couture elements in Prêt-A-Porter
Hartamas, 23/11/2009 - The new and upcoming Fashion Designer, Nisa Mazbar just recently back from Paris, France and is ready to make her big come back in Malaysia’s Fashion Scene.
Nisa Mazbar graduated from one of the prestigious Fashion school in Paris. She has worked closely with a lot of famous Fashion Designers such as Elie Saab, Dominique Sirop, J Maskrey and Anne Valérie Hash. After spending several years in France, she decided to move back to her own country and contribute her skills and knowledge to the local Fashion Industry, and YODA will be her first debut in Malaysia. Her favourite quote is, “Once a Parisienne, will always be a Parisienne,”
What is unique about Nisa Mazbar is that most of her pieces are literally hand-made. She prefers to do a lot of sewing by hand rather than using the industrial sewing machine. According to the designer, there is a big difference between the two sewing techniques in the terms of effects and quality. She took the specific skill and knowledge of Haute Couture from one of her professor who is a couturier of Maison de Nina Ricci who has worked with the late Madame Ricci herself.
The theme of her collection for YODA showcase this year is Chateau de Marie, which means Palace of Marie. The collection’s inspiration is taken from the Royal Chateau de Versailles. It is a palace whereby the famous Queen of France, Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVI used to live. According to the designer, she was inspired by several elements from the fine and luxurious architecture and items from the Palace. The mood of the collection will be mixed of Elegance, Futuristic and a touch of Haute Couture.
